Start an empty matter workspace. Add the court, case, debtor, counsel, and notice data later through setup or import.

Generate demo file

Download a synthetic system file that the upload accepts. The same seed always produces the same file. Nothing in it is a real person.

Upload the file on the matter's External data tab as a user who holds the format's upload role. Its pay runs are dated around the as-of date you choose here; the upload takes the case's petition date as its cutoff unless you set this date there too.

Create one user for every workflow responsibility in a demo matter, enable their access, and assign the responsibility. The same matter always produces the same people.
